Why is the manager's report always late? From the Excel round to a shared board

The answer to a manager's question doesn't arrive the same day — it comes after a reporting round, an Excel file, and a day's delay. iyibir Mind turns that gap into asking in Turkish and drawing the answer onto a board shared with the team.

The question a general manager brings to the weekly meeting is usually simple: where do we stand against this month's target, how are collections going. But the answer doesn't arrive the same day — it comes after a reporting round, an Excel file, and a day's delay. iyibir Mind turns that gap into asking the question directly to the data in Turkish and drawing the answer onto a board shared with the team.

How the Excel round works

The manager asks the question, it gets passed to the relevant team; someone from finance or sales pulls the data, arranges it in Excel, formats it, and sends it back. This round happens all over again each time — the same question was asked last week too, and the answer still arrives as a file, still with a delay. By the time the meeting starts, the figure is a step behind the agenda, and no one is quite sure whether the file in hand is current.

How the same question is answered in Mind

In Mind, a question is written in everyday Turkish: something like "Where do we stand against this month's sales target?" Mind matches the question with the right ready-made analysis, gives a short answer in the chat, and draws the same answer onto the board as a metric card, chart, or table. Every number on a card is the result of the analysis — the model writing the answer does not produce numbers; Mind's job is to understand the question, pick the right ready-made analysis, and briefly explain the result.

If your question doesn't match an analysis

If your question doesn't match any of the 15 available analyses, Mind says so instead of pretending one exists, and no off-topic card gets added to the board. For analyses that take a period, you state the range in the question itself — this month, last month, this quarter, this year, the last 12 months; if you don't, the analysis's default period is used, calculated in Turkey time.

How the board is shared with the team

As answers accumulate, the board grows. When you name a board and share it, it's added to the shared boards list for everyone at your company; a shared board is read-only. A teammate uses "Start from this board" to open their own copy and continues from there with their own questions — your board doesn't change. When you ask a new question yourself, it doesn't reflect on the shared board until you choose "Update"; you decide who sees the board.

What speeds up

  • The question goes directly to the data; no separate queue forms for a report request.
  • The same board is reused meeting after meeting; questions aren't asked from scratch each time.
  • Everyone in the meeting looks at the same shared board instead of talking over separately sent files.

Today, Mind works with sample data from a fictional industrial spare-parts distributor. The flow above is seen with this sample data during a trial; every card carries a "Sample ERP data" note as a reminder.
